Your First Visit
How long will it take?
From the time you enter our clinic until you leave will take approximately 30 minutes. If you have had an accident or require x-rays and extended exams please plan on 45 minutes to an hour.
Patient Forms
Upon entering the clinic, our receptionist will welcome you. We will request that you complete our patient forms, which provide us with your health history and information on your condition.You should arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment time to complete your paperwork.
The intake form can be printed and filled out and brought along to your first appointment.
Consultation
Next, you will have a consultation with one of our doctors to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for Dr. Steve or Dr. Joe to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals.
Examination
After your consultation, the doctor will perform a complete chiropractic examination, testing your reflexes and flexibility. Other standard neurological, or postural, and physical tests will be performed as well. However, nothing will be done in our office without your consent.
Digital X-ray
Depending on your specific condition, we may take X-rays as well. X-rays help us develop the most effective treatment plan for you, and alert us of any serious conditions. Our new digital X-ray provides images that are much clearer than standard X-ray machines produce, and gives Dr. Steve or Dr. Joe immediate images to diagnose your condition. Most people are amazed once they see their X-rays up close.
Report of Findings
Once the information is collected and examinations are performed, Dr. Steve or Dr. Joe will give you a detailed report of all findings and answer any questions, including:
- How can you help me?
- How often do I need to come in?
After reviewing your health history, goals, and examining your spine and X-rays, the doctor will discuss recommendations and notify you if your condition requires care with other providers. Dr. Steve or Dr. Joe will provide the best treatment and wellness program for your needs.
Same-Day Treatment
Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies, patients will generally be provided with their first treatment during this same visit. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapy, exercises, and/or soft tissue therapies. Treatment is interactive, so please express your preferences about the different styles of treatment.
Home Instructions
Prior to leaving, patients may be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.
